Powder Coat FAQ's

What is powder coating?

Powder is an exciting new coating method making a major impact in the finishing industry. This unique technology offers a full palette of colors and an almost infinite range of properties to choose from, including resistance to ultraviolet rays, greater durability, better corrosion resistance, plus any of a dozen other properites, depending on the particular job requirements and the needs of the user.

Powder coatings fall into two broad categories - thermoplastic and thermosetting. Generally, thermoplastic powders are more suitable for items requiring a thicker coating where extreme performance requirements must be met. Thermosetting coatings are more often used in decorative and protective applications when comparatively thinner coatings are desirable.
